Renault laguna/clio problems?

my radio in my renault clio stopped working so i put my one in from my laguna hooked it all up and when i try and put the code in nothing comes up on the dash it only displays the time and temperature. the radio will take the cd's and it bleeps when certain buttons are pressed any help into why its not asking me to put the code in so it will work will be very appreciated
