What has happened to Christianity?

It seems that less people believe in God and Jesus. And less people go to church. Why is this? A relationship with Christ is the most important thing in a persons life. I know people think that all Christians are bigots and hate science but that is absolutely false. And if you've lost faith in God I think you should know that he hasn't given up on you.
